Food banks & food pantries serving families never seen before

The Food Bank of Alaska is kicking off its Thanksgiving and Christmas food drive season feeling a little empty.

Several business owners in the Tikahtnu Commons complex say nearby construction has cost them thousands of dollars in lost revenue. The interchange where Muldoon Road passes over the Glenn Highway has been under construction for several weeks. Once it's finished, the new road is expected to reduce congestion and improve safety. The $55 million interchange will have criss-crossing one-way lanes with traffic signals and free-flowing ramps. There will also be a new pedestrian walkway.
