ANCHORAGE, Alaska -- Clean energy was the focus of a gathering at the Delaney Park Strip Saturday.
The fifth annual Alaska Renewable Energy Fair runs until 8 p.m. Saturday.
More than 50 vendors set up to demonstrate energy-saving ideas.
Among them was Will Taygan of Arctic Vegwerks who demonstrated how to turn restaurant fryer oil into biodiesel -- add a chemical and regular cars can use it.
Or, he says, you can modify your car with a special heater.
"And then you can just pour the fryer oil straight in and once the car is warmed up, you flip the switch and drive to Homer for three bucks," said Taygan.
