KENAI, Alaska -- Prosecutors have charged a former Kenai Central High School teacher of having sex with one of her underaged former students.

Soldotna radio station KSRM reports that the Kenai District Attorney's Office filed criminal charges against Rosemary Owens, a 34-year-old physical science teacher.

Owens resigned from the school district after allegations against her surfaced in June. She currently lives in Idaho.

Owens is charged with two counts of sexual abuse of a minor in the second degree, one count of misconduct involving a controlled substance in the third degree and one count of furnishing alcohol to a minor.
