ANCHORAGE, Alaska -- A 52-year-old man is behind bars after being arrested by Anchorage police for the sexual abuse of a minor.

According to police, Mark LeVrier helped a family move to Alaska from Arkansas in August. Police say one of the family members, a 12-year-old girl, told her parents that LeVrier sexually molested her in September.

The family confronted LeVrier, who allegedly admitted to the molestation and left Alaska that day. Upon learning that an arrest warrant had been issued for him, LeVrier returned to Alaska from Arkansas and turned himself in.

During the investigation, Anchorage police learned that LeVrier used to work for child protective services in Texas. Police believe he may have more victims.

LeVrier is charged with two counts of first-degree sexual abuse of a minor.
