ANCHORAGE, Alaska -- It took less than seven hours of deliberations.
The jury returned a guilty verdict Thursday on all five counts in the murder trial of Nicholas Showers-Glover.
After the verdict was read, some in the courtroom were so emotional they had to be escorted out.
The outbursts came as Showers-Glover's mother heard each of the five verdicts one by one.
Emotions forced the family and the defendant to be escorted out of the courtroom.
The jury found Showers-Glover guilty on all five counts: murder in the first degree, murder in the second degree, attempted murder, and assault in the first and third degrees.
It all goes back to March 2, 2007 when Showers-Glover fired five shots, killing 18-year-old Jennifer Olson and injuring her fiancé Kori Johnson.
Two-and-a-half years later, Olson's mother says she can finally breathe.
"Maybe we can start to heal now. It's been a long time. There's been no healing in our family until today. And it's going to take a long time for that to ever happen," said Kelly Wik, Olson's mother.
Wik says she feels justice was served and says now she and her family can finally move on.
Defense attorney Rex Butler says the defense will file for an appeal.
The preliminary sentencing hearing is set for February of next year.
