ANCHORAGE, Alaska -- An Anchorage woman who was accused of trying to run down a police officer with her SUV faced the judge Monday.

Margaret Andrew, 29, was charged with trying to run over officer Nicholas Saldana in early September while he questioned two men at the intersection of 12th Ave. and Gambell.

Police say during the incident, Andrew began flashing her SUV's lights and sped towards the officer, stopping just short of hitting him.

When she was arrested, police say Andrew told them, "all cops do is bother people."

Andrew pleaded guilty Monday to Assault and DUI.

Under her plea agreement, she was sentenced to 24 months in jail, but the judge suspended 18 months of that.

She's also on probation for three years.
