ANCHORAGE, Alaska -- A federal judge in Anchorage has ordered a new public defender for former Rep. Vic Kohring.

The Anchorage Daily News reports his initial lawyer is off the case because Kohring is suing him over a car accident.

Kohring, along with former House Speaker Pete Kott, is appealing a corruption conviction. The two were released from prison in June because prosecutors failed to disclose evidence in their favor.
