ANCHORAGE, Alaska -- Gov. Sean Parnell is in Washington this weekend to focus support on Alaska's natural resources.

At the National Governors Association meeting, Parnell met with members of the Obama administration, members of Congress and business executives.

Parnell also worked to amend an Endangered Species Act resolution to put more emphasis on local decision-making and economic development in land use planning.

"I will continue fighting to ensure that jobs and economic recovery take a front seat in any discussions," Parnell said in a statement.

Parnell and his wife attended a dinner at the White House Sunday.
