ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) - Blowing snow continues to stymie efforts to kill wolves believed responsible for the death of a teacher in Chignik Lake.
Department of Fish and Game spokeswoman Jennifer Yuhas says by email that there has not been a break in whiteout conditions.
She says residents report fleeting sightings of wolves and or wolf tracks in the area.
Village residents discovered the body of 32-year-old Candice Berner surrounded by wolf tracks about a mile from the community one week ago.
An autopsy concluded an animal killed the teacher and Alaska State Troopers say the animals involved likely were wolves.
Chignik Lake is an Alaska Peninsula community of 105 residents 474 miles southwest of Anchorage.
