ANCHORAGE, Alaska -- A man police say killed one man and critically injured another is now charged with murder.

Trent Knutson was arrested Saturday night. A judge formally advised him Sunday he faces murder, assault, and drunken driving charges in connection with a fatal accident Friday night.

Police say Knutson, traveling at a high rate of speed, was traveling westbound on 36th Avenue when he ran a red light and slammed into a car headed northbound on A Street.

The driver in that car, Jack Boddy of Anchorage, was critically injured. His passenger, Timothy Oates of Fairbanks, was killed.
