Kevin Wells' dreams of an athletic career were shattered at the age of 10 when he was taken deep by his fifth grade gym teacher in a student-teacher softball game. Shortly thereafter, he turned his attention to sportscasting and hasn't looked back.
A native of Maryland, Kevin started his career at the "cradle of sportscasting," Syracuse University. While studying at "Sportscaster U" (but not too hard), Kevin got his training at WAER-FM, and had the opportunity to broadcast Orangemen football, basketball and lacrosse games.
After graduating in 1999, Kevin moved to Alaska, the only place actually colder than Syracuse, NY. He spent four years (OK, four winters) as sports director at the FOX and CBS affiliates in Fairbanks and hosted a half-hour sports show every week for two years.
Kevin has been with Channel 2 Sports since August 2003 as "Weekend Edition" sports anchor and he currently resides in Anchorage. He has called Alaska home since 1999.
