Caslon Hatch joined the Channel Two News team in November 2012 as a Multimedia Journalist for the “Morning Edition.” After more than a year of 2 a.m. wake up calls, she was promoted to Weekend Anchor in January 2014 while continuing to work as a Multi-Media Journalist and Reporter three days a week.
Caslon comes to Alaska from Des Moines, Iowa where she was born and raised. After studying Political Science at Iowa State University, she transferred to Columbia College in Chicago to pursue a degree in Broadcast Journalism.
Caslon reported, anchored, produced and directed two of broadcasts at Columbia College, "News Beat" and "Metro Minutes." She also interned for WHO-TV in Des Moines and WMAQ in Chicago, where she worked alongside the NBC station's Emmy-award winning health team.
In her free time, you can find Caslon running and biking on one of Anchorage’s many trails or discovering new venues to eat around town.
Caslon says she is proud to call Alaska home and looks forward to learning more about all the rich traditions and great history the 49th state claims. She is incredibly proud to be a part of the team at Channel 2 and looks forward to telling the Alaska's story one report at a time. So, if you have any story ideas for Caslon, please send them her way!
