Morning Technical Director/Director

Prior to the live newscast, the morning TD works in partnership with the morning Director to translate the day’s ENPS rundown into accurate Overdrive automation coding commands.
During the live newscast, the morning TD generally operates the Overdrive system under the verbal direction of the Director, but occasionally takes over Directing as well.


Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

Pre-Production
    •    Turn on or reset equipment from the night before.
    •    Set up special wipes, opens, and board-settings.
    •    Encode show with Overdrive automation commands.
    •    Proof read rundowns.
    •    Record weather cut-ins for Today Show.
    •    Ensure remote live shots are routed and ready to be taken on-air.
    •    Double check font accuracy, and correct prior to air, if time allows.
    •    Studio setup, including: turn on lights, position cameras (remotely, via robotics), load prompting computer, position prompter control unit.
