Christine Kim (July 24, 2012) |
Christine Kim joined the Channel 2 news team in October, 2009.
Born in the city of Chicago, raised in the suburbs, she's excited to experience all that Alaska has to offer. She's not too much of an outdoors gal, but she's eager to give everything a try (suggestions welcome!). She already made a to-do list: learning how to ski downhill and cross country is definitely high on her priority list!
Before joining KTUU, Christine worked as the morning news reporter at WICD in Champaign, Illinois. She also interned at Fox Chicago News where she field produced and contributed to the web department.
Christine graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalism. During her years in college, she was also an editor, anchor and reporter for the radio station, WPGU-FM, and worked as a print reporter for The Daily Illini. She was a "one-man-band" at her campus TV station UI-7 News and was a reporter for an online news outlet, palestra.net.
She's very happy to call Alaska her home. When she's not working, you can find her at local coffee shops and restaurants; she's always looking for great local spots. Christine's also fluent in Korean, and she can't live without Korean food!
