Wasilla Man Injured in Motorcycle Rollover
A Wasilla man was injured Sunday night in a motorcycle rollover, according to Alaska State Troopers.
According to an AST dispatch Monday morning, troopers responding to reports of a motorcycle crash with serious injuries on Pittman Road at 9:45 p.m. Sunday found 48-year-old Jay Osmond at the scene.
“An investigation showed that (Osmond) was traveling on Pittman Road when he failed to negotiate a curve and the vehicle went off road,” troopers wrote. “The motorcycle rolled at least one time causing injury to Osmond.”
AST spokesperson Megan Peters says in an email that Osmond was riding a 1999 Yamaha motorcycle alone at the time of the crash.
"The roads were dry at the time and the only visibility issue was it was dark," Peters wrote.
Medics transported Osmond to an area hospital for treatment. Peters says troopers subsequently received word that his injuries were not serious.
Troopers are continuing to investigate the crash.
