Patrick Flynn is the incumbent assemblyman representing District 1, covering downtown and the edge of East Anchorage.

The 42-year-old father of two is from the district he represents, and his full-time job is as a regional manager for the environmental engineering firm Weston Solutions.

Flynn describes his greatest accomplishment on the Assembly as his work to reveal waste and inefficiencies at the Port of Anchorage. He was part of the group assigned to investigate cost overruns related to port development projects.

"We managed to figure out what the problems were and get the project on line to hopefully moving it onto a better path," he said. "I think there's a chance now that we'll get the right project finally executed."
