Tim Steele barely caught a break from the campaign trail.

He was elected last year to serve out the remainder of a partial term, and now the 68-year-old Spenard resident is seeking his first full term on the Anchorage Assembly.

The district he represents encompasses Spenard and West Anchorage.

Steele describes himself as a left-leaning moderate and said one of his top priorities is getting what a "much-needed" road project moving.

The project would fund improvements to a section of Spenard Road running from Hillcrest Drive to Benson Boulevard, a busy corridor that is frequented by cars, pedestrians and bicyclists.
