After more than 40 years in its Fairview location, the Anchorage Neighborhood Health Center is moving to a Midtown location starting on Monday.

The new location is 4951 Business Park Blvd, on the west side of C Street south of Tudor Road.

ANHC is one of Alaska's largest medical and dental providers, and people there say it serves nearly 14,000 patients each year, regardless of their ability to pay.

At the new location, ANHC providers say they will be able to serve twice the number of patients they could see at their Fairview location.

Even so many staff members, including John Zasada, found the move bittersweet.

"We've been a proud part of the Fairview community for the entire time that we've been in business," Zasada said. "We're sad to not have our Fairview patients nearby, but we look forward to a more convenient location that's visible and that the entire community's going to be able to use."

Right now there is no bus service to the new health center, but ANHC says they are working on a solution to be able to get people there who need their services.
