Plater, a retired colonel in the <a class="taxInlineTagLink" id="ORGOV0000126141142" title="U.S. Army" href="/topic/unrest-conflicts-war/defense/u.s.-army-ORGOV0000126141142.topic">U.S. Army</a>, is a descendant of <a class="taxInlineTagLink" id="PEHST0000419" title="Francis Scott Key" href="/topic/arts-culture/literature/francis-scott-key-PEHST0000419.topic">Francis Scott Key</a> and the 6th governor of Maryland, George Plater. He was also in <a class="taxInlineTagLink" id="PLCUL00216" title="The Pentagon" href="/topic/unrest-conflicts-war/defense/the-pentagon-PLCUL00216.topic">the Pentagon</a> during the 9/11 attack.

Plater, a retired colonel in the U.S. Army, is a descendant of Francis Scott Key and the 6th governor of Maryland, George Plater. He was also in the Pentagon during the 9/11 attack.
