Amari, an African leopard at The Maryland Zoo in Baltimore, chooses spring over winter on Groundhog Day. The zoo does not have a groundhog so boxes, one marked "Spring" with elephant bedding and manure around it and beef meatballs inside, the other marked "Winter" with antelope bedding and manure outside it and meatballs inside, were placed in the enclosure. Although she went to the winter box first, animal keeper in the African watering hole Claire MacNamara, says Amari attacked winter and enjoyed spring.
