( Lloyd Fox, Baltimore Sun photo / November 10, 2012 ) As a fundraiser for the Maryland Film Festival, Baltimore's favorite provocateur, John Waters, interviewed the actor responsible for bringing one of his best-loved creations, "Hairspray" mom Edna Turnblad, to full-throated life on the big screen. The writer-director of the original 1988 "Hairspray" had never talked extensively with the star of the 2007 musical version before, but the two chatted like old friends before a packed crowd at the Maryland Institute College of Art's Brown Center. |
