The first shipment of turbine parts has reached Fire Island.
Cook Inlet Regional, Incorporated officials say the turbine parts for the wind project were shipped early Monday morning and off-loaded in the afternoon.
For the past few weeks, turbine parts have arrived at the Port of Anchorage.
The $65-million project should wrap up in September.
Road construction and most of the on-shore work have already been completed.
CIRI officials say the project is expected to generate more than 48-thousand mega-watt hours in a year, which is the equivalent to powering a 100-watt lightbulb for about 485-million hours.
