Housing Authority of Washington County

The Washington County Board of County Commissioners on Nov. 27 approved the appointments of John Lestitian and Toni Sandridge to the Housing Authority of Washington County Board of Commissioners, each for a five-year term through Nov. 30, 2017.

Since May 2010, Lestitian has served as director of community and economic development for the City of Hagerstown and brings to the board 24 years of experience in public service. His professional career has been in law enforcement, law enforcement training, community outreach/development and in numerous government leadership positions.

Sandridge is currently an independent insurance agent in Washington County. As a member of the Community Organization Fund Committee, she brings to the board knowledge of how resources related to nonprofit and/or required citizen services are invested and leveraged in Washington County.

The Housing Authority of Washington County is an independent arm of Washington County government whose mission it is to provide safe, affordable housing solutions that strengthen the community by focusing on local needs.



Power Marketing LLC

Tracie Hovey recently joined Power Marketing LLC in Hagerstown as business development director.

Hovey is responsible for managing contacts between Power Marketing and new and existing client accounts, ensuring constant communication and that the creative department is meeting all client expectations.

Hovey has primary input in developing strategic marketing plans. After plans are developed and presented to clients, she is responsible for estimating, acquiring approvals and carrying out strategic marketing plans on a daily basis, as well as representing the concepts to the creative department and clients.

Before joining Power Marketing, Hovey served as development director for Star Community Inc., where she developed strategic marketing plans and public-relations campaigns, managed all communications and more. She has worked as a public relations director for the past 10 years with various nonprofits, government agencies and film festivals.

As part of one public relations campaign, she directed a documentary film titled “Secrets to Love,” which won numerous film festival awards and was distributed by PBS.

Hovey has a bachelor’s degree in journalism from California State University and plans to graduate in February with a master’s degree in strategic public relations from George Washington University.

She is vice president of the Maryland International Film Festival, which she helped establish in Hagerstown two years ago to support the talents of independent filmmakers. She also serves on the legislative committee for the “Washington County: We Mean Business!” reception and the Hagerstown-Washington County Chamber of Commerce.
