The Washington County Department of Social Services’ Risk Management Team recently received the Health and Safety Group Award of Excellence in Risk Management at the recent State Employees Risk Management Administration conference in Towson, Md.
The State Employees Risk Management Administration is a specialized unit of the Injured Workers’ Insurance Fund.
The team was recognized for the many safety practices and policies it has instituted at Washington County Department of Social Services. As a result, there have been no compensable injured workers’ claims for three consecutive years (2009-11).
Washington County DSS, with a work force of 235 employees at three locations, was commended for its continued safety record.
