Kaladi to Give New Year's Day Revenue to Local Charity (KTUU / December 23, 2012) |
Update (Jan. 1, 2013): Kaladi Brothers raised more than $12,000 for its New Year’s Day fundraiser, according to preliminary numbers.
Dale Tran, Chief Operating Officer of Kaladi Brothers, said that the coffee company raised $12,021, which was an increase from the previous New Year’s fundraiser that brought in over $11,000.
This year, Shell will also match the official tally, which brings the full amount to over $24,000 – all going to The Children’s Lunchbox.
Original (Dec. 23, 2012): Kaladi Brothers Coffee will once again donate its New Year’s Day revenues to a local Alaskan charity.
The Children’s Lunchbox will receive 100-percent of the coffee company’s drink sales from January 1, 2013.
The charity has delivered meals to hungry kids for 14-years, and just this last year the program director said it distributed more than 100-thousand meals to children here in Anchorage.
Kaladi Brothers said baristas will only work for tips that day and hope to raise $25,000 to $30,000 with Shell Alaska also pledging to match donations.
“It’s been a tradition of Kaladi Brothers for over twenty years to donate 100 percent of our revenues of New Year’s Day,” Dale Tran, Chief Operating Officer of Kaladi Brothers, said. “It’s nice way to start off the New Year’s.”
