A company exploring for copper, gold and other minerals on Prince of Wales Island has reached a financial agreement with a fund representing Chinese interests.

The Ketchikan Daily News reports Heatherdale Resources will receive $3 million from the Sino-Canada Natural Resources Fund under terms of a two-year deal.

The money will allow Heatherdale to continue exploring for gold, copper, silver and zinc at both the Niblack Project site on the island and the Delta Project north of Tok.
