Howie joined the Channel 2 Weather team in October 2017 as a fill-in Meteorologist and was quickly promoted to KTUU's Morning Edition team.

Howie moved to Anchorage from Joplin, Missouri where he worked as a full-time Meteorologist at KODE-TV from 2015-2017. There, he also served as a fill-in Morning Co-Anchor and hosted creative, personality-driven, feature segments like "Big Howie on Campus" and the "Big Howie Challenge."

Howie attended the University of South Florida in Tampa and later earned his Broadcast Meteorology Certification from Mississippi State University in 2009. He also holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Atmospheric Science-Meteorology and a minor in Physical Science from Mississippi State. Howie a member of the John A. Logan College Vice President's Club (Illinois), a guest speaker a various conferences/fundraisers and has appeared in a number of movies, commercials and TV shows, including season six of "Big Brother" in 2005.

Born and raised in Chicago, Howie is no stranger to cold weather. He's excited to be on the Channel 2 News team and looking forward to exploring Alaska and all the 49th state has to offer.
