Girdwood, ALASKA (KTUU) On Monday, October 9th Alyeska Resort held the second annual Fall Food Drive. The resort gave away hundreds of free Alyeska Aerial tram tickets in exchange for non-perishable food items.
"It is a good way to get people out on a holiday Monday up the mountain and it is a good way to gather food for a great cause," said Ben Napolitano, Alyeska Resort Marketing Manager.
In total, 478 tram tickets were given away for the food drive, according to Alyeska Resort officials.
Starting Tuesday the tram will be closed until the winter ski season begins in December.
