WASILLA, Alaska (KTUU) - Alaska State Troopers say a 51-year-old woman is dead after a high speed crash around 4 p.m. Saturday in Wasilla.

Steven Lawton, 39, was said to be driving a 2013 Ford F-150 faster than the speed limit eastbound on Bogard Rd toward the intersection of Stringfield Rd.

Jean Angus, 51, was described by troopers as driving a 2009 gray GMC Sierra pick-up truck. She was turning left from Springfield Rd onto Bogard when "both vehicles collided and came to a rest on the roadway," say troopers.

Angus was then extricated from her truck before being airlifted by helicopter. AST says she died en-route.

Both vehicles are described as a total loss.

Troopers have not said if charges will be filed in this case.
