KETCHIKAN (KTUU) - Alaska State Troopers stopped a 13-year-old boy driving a Ford Focus without headlights. Troopers say the juvenile was driving with the 54-year-old passenger's permission.

Troopers conducted a traffic stop around 7 p.m. Saturday near the intersection of Trollers Lane and North Tongass Highway for a vehicle having no headlights activated in the dark.

"The driver was identified as a 13 year old, male juvenile from Ketchikan. The juvenile was released to his parent and issued a Summons for operating a motor vehicle with No Valid Operator's License," said the dispatch in the Trooper's dispatch log.

Further investigation revealed that the passenger and owner of the vehicle identified as Connie McReynolds, 54, of Ketchikan allowed the 13 year old juvenile to drive the vehicle.

McReynolds was issued a Summons for Permitting an Unauthorized Person to drive.
