The End: Eagle River Blockbuster closes its doors

By  |

EAGLE RIVER, Alaska (KTUU) - Sunday night the Eagle River Blockbuster video store is closed its doors for the last time.

Employees say, since Thursday all merchandise has been at additional discounted prices and half the stores inventory is gone.

Customers and those looking for a piece of nostalgia purchased the Blockbuster T-shirts and signs with the iconic yellow and blue Blockbuster ticket stub logo.

Customers are sad that the store is going and residents will have to use other alternatives to watch movies, Alex Cook, a Blockbuster Supervisor said.

All the remaining merchandise will be sent to the Wasilla location.

There are still six Blockbuster locations remaining open across Alaska
