ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) Nursing students from the University of Anchorage Alaska spent the day promoting the prevention of interpersonal violence in downtown Anchorage.
"We're trying to help people understand warning signs of different types of interpersonal violence and then who can they go to after that," UAA Nursing Student, Michaela Jones said.
To promote education and awareness, students held a 'swear to care' fair at Town Square Park.
Five different groups of nursing students addressed five different topics of interpersonal violence. Which included teen dating violence, elder abuse, domestic violence, sexual assault and bullying.
There were booths, games, giveaways and interactive activities to promote recognizing and addressing interpersonal violence.
