ANCHORAGE (KTUU) - An Anchorage man and woman have been charged with attempted murder and assault for a shooting that took place inside the Muldoon Fred Meyer store nearly two months ago.
Prosecutors say surveillance video shows that 20-year-old Eric Lee and 18-year-old Linda McGrew were standing in a self-checkout line at the store on Jan. 11, 2018, when a group of three men got in line at the Alaska USA Federal Credit Union bank inside the store.
When that happened, prosecutors say McGrew, who was also holding a toddler, handed Lee her purse, from which he took a gun. Lee walked toward the bank while McGrew and the child quickly left the store. Prosecutors say Lee fired one shot at the group of three men and ran away.
The shot missed and went into the bank's wall.
Each of them were charged with attempted first-degree murder, attempted first-degree assault, and four counts of third-degree assault.
