ANCHORAGE (KTUU) - A crash on the Glenn Highway early Thursday morning is causing police to warn drivers of both poor conditions, and bad traffic for commuters on the busy highway.

According to a community alert issued by APD, a "minor collision" on the Old Glenn Highway near Monte Road is causing "heavy traffic congestion" in both directions of the Glenn Hwy. at the South Eagle River Road exit.

Police warn of poor winter weather conditions and low visibility, not only on the highway into town, but all throughout the Anchorage area.

"Please allow extra time to get to your destination, maintain a safe speed, maintain a safe distance between the vehicle in front of you and wear your seat belt," police wrote in the alert.
