DOUGLAS, Alaska (AP) - An Alaska man says his dog, Bingo, came nose-to-nose with a wolf while they were walking at Savikko Park, also referred to as Sandy Beach.

The Juneau Empire reports the incident happened last Saturday while Peter Fellman and his wife, Jane Pierson, were walking their two dogs.

Neither Fellman, his wife nor their dogs were harmed in the encounter.

Fellman says Bingo's benign nature allowed the group to remain unharmed.

It was at least the third wolf encounter dog walkers have had on local Alaska trails this year.
