A young woman who identified herself as the oldest daughter of a woman who lived with accused Fort Lauderdale shooter Esteban Santiago gave a brief statement to reporters moments ago.
Robyn Peterson, daughter of Gina Peterson, spoke on behalf of her family.
"My deepest condolences to the innocent people who lost their lives and or were injured," Robyn said, reading from a prepared statement. "My warmest sincerities go out to the families, friends, my mother, brother and sisters."
"We all hope that the victims of this see justice. Thank you and God Bless America," she said.
Robyn Peterson said her family never saw the attacks coming. Asked if her mother had been afraid of Santiago, the young woman declined to answer more questions.
Alaska court records show that her father William Peterson filed for divorce in 2014, and the couple had four children together. When Channel 2 called the father's work place earlier today, a co-worker said the man did not know Santiago well.
