ANCHORAGE (KTUU) - Snow enthusiasts take to the slopes at Hilltop Ski Area during its second day of opening for the season.
Hilltop Ski Area's second day of opening for this winter season.
Working around Anchorage's lack of snowfall this season, Hilltop produces man-made snow for Moose Run.
Rick Cramer, General Manager of Hilltop Ski Area, says that the ski area has produced approximately eight inches to one foot of man-made snow.
"Man-made snow compacts down and wears much better than natural snow," he said. "You need less of it."
Thanksgiving holiday hours of operation are between 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. On Friday, the run will be open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Then regular season hours will follow in the days ahead.
Hilltop ticket prices range depending on age. See website for details.
