Hours of snowfall lead to hazardous driving conditions across southcentral

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) - After hours of snow throughout southcentral Sunday, police are warning residents about dangerous driving conditions.

"Snow fall has created hazardous driving conditions on the Glenn Highway, in both directions, between the Knik River Bridge and Eagle River areas," Anchorage Police wrote in a release shortly before 5 pm.

APD said Blowing snow is a contributing factor.

Channel 2 Meteorologist, Howie Gordon said as of 4 pm, a recorded 1.7 inches of snow had fallen in Anchorage since the early morning hours.

"Drivers are asked to take extra safety precautions when traveling this evening and tomorrow morning," the release states.
