JBER (KTUU) — Nearly 100 JBER and Japanese paratroopers parachuted onto the Malemute drop zone Wednesday, part of a joint exercise between U.S. Army Alaska and Japanese Ground Self-Defense Force paratroopers.

The bilateral airborne operation is an annual exercise that puts elements of the JBER-based Spartan Brigade into combat training scenarios with the Japanese Ground Self-Defense Force to strengthen operational readiness between the two military forces.

Multimedia journalist Shawn Wilson captured the jump from the Malemute Drop Zone.
