ORIGINAL STORY:
One man was found dead early Wednesday morning, after Anchorage police responded to a shooting incident on the 800 block of West 29th Place.

Police on scene say they got the initial call at 4:15 a.m., and found the adult male victim shot dead inside a residence in the area.

MJ Thim, a spokesperson for the Anchorage Police Department, said the man was found in the living room, and that multiple people inside the apartment witnessed the shooting.

As for who is being sought for this killing, that is not clear. Those witnesses at the scene were taken in by police for questioning.

"We do not have a suspect description at this time, due to the fact that there are conflicting statements from those witnesses," Thim said. "We do believe that it was a male, but we do not have a description yet."

According to authorities, it is unclear as to how many times the man was shot, but they did say that he was dead by the time they arrived.

Roads were closed in the area while police responded. Thim said that the investigation into the shooting is ongoing.

This is a developing story and will be updated with more information.
