ANCHORAGE (KTUU)- BP Alaska President Janet Weiss shaved her head Saturday as part of a deal she made for meeting production in Prudhoe Bay.
Weiss told Prudhoe Bay oil workers back in March or April that if they produced 280,000 thousand barrels per day, she'd do something radical. They made the goal happen, plus more.
Prudhoe Bay produced more than 280,000 barrels per day.
"That's 14,000 barrels a day more. That's the equivalent of bringing on a small field. That's what in essence happened. The more we can slow decline, the more we can stay competitive with our cost structure, the more decades that we will be able to produce Prudhoe." Weiss said.
