ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) - Following the frenzied sighting of Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner at the last weekend of the Alaska State Fair, another celebrity has been spotted taking an Alaskan vacation.
Neil Patrick Harris, known best for his roles as Barney Stinson on the sitcom How I Met Your Mother, was seen with his husband and two children enjoying the sights in Alaska.
On Monday, Harris shared photos of the trip to Instagram, including a guided river rafting excursion. "Can't stop thinking about our Alaskan adventure," Harris captioned the photo series. "Thanks @withinthewild for providing memories that will last lifetimes. Truly a spectacular place!"
Harris rose to fame as a young actor portraying the title character on Doogie Howser, M.D. in the early 90's. More recently, Harris was cast to portray Count Olaf on the Netflix adaptation of the popular book franchise, A Series of Unfortunate Events.
This summer saw several other famous figures visit the state.
Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerburg visited Alaska in July as part of his goal to go to each of the 50 states this year. He was seen cheering on runners at this summer's Mount Marathon race.
Mogul and former talk show host Oprah Winfrey took a week long cruise later in July, visiting regions from Juneau to Ketchikan. She sampled Alaskan brewed beer and viewed whales from the bridge of the cruise liner.
President Barack Obama also stopped in an Anchorage-area airport, refueling on a return trip back from Asia aboard a privately chartered plane. At that time, Obama met with an Alaskan mother and jokingly told her he was going to steal her baby because of how cute she was.
In addition to the rafting trip, Harris and his family took in some sights visiting lakes and glaciers in Skwentna. More photos of Harris' family's Alaskan vacation can be found below, or by visiting Harris' personal Instagram account.
