Anchorage police identify man shot, killed in Spenard trailer park

ANCHORAGE (KTUU) - Police in Anchorage have identified the man who was shot and killed in a Spenard trailer park on Jan. 28.

In a community alert, police said Carl Bowie Jr., 52, was found dead inside a home in the Penguin Trailer Court off of Spenard Road.

Additionally, APD wrote that no arrests have been made in this case, and no other details are being released about what happened that night.

Bowie was reportedly pronounced dead at the scene, and witnesses told police that they heard gunshots and saw several people running in different directions.

Police remained on the scene investigating the shooting for over an hour, and initially would not confirm if the case was a homicide. In the release issued Tuesday, Feb. 6, they identified Bowie as a "homicide victim."

Anyone with information about the shooting is being asked to come forward by police, especially any homes with surveillance equipment. The relevant areas in town include the 3400 block of Spenard Road, as well as the area of 36th Avenue and Arctic Boulevard, where other gunshots were overheard that same night.
