ANCHORAGE (KTUU) - Update
The Anchorage police received confirmation that Daniel Manwarren, 26, is alive and in Anchorage, according to APD via a Nixle alert.
On Thursday, APD says they were notified that Manwarren appeared at his place of employment.
"We appreciate the help of our citizens and thank you for looking out for one another," says APD.
Anchorage police are calling the disappearance of a 26-year-old man “suspicious” and are asking the public for help finding him.
Investigators say 26-year-old Daniel Manwarren was last seen on Dec. 19 at the Costco on Dimond Boulevard where he is an employee. He was reported missing to police about two weeks later, on Tuesday Jan. 3.
Manwarren’s family has not heard from him since the 19th, including Christmas Day and his birthday, according to APD spokeswoman Jennifer Castro. Police say it is highly unusual for Manwarren to go so long without contacting his family.
“His disappearance is very odd,” Castro said.
Since he was reported missing, police have tried unsuccessfully to contact Manwarren by phone and did not find him at his residence. The case is now being investigated by detectives and police say there is concern for Manwarren’s welfare.
Police describe Manwarren as 5’8”, thin build with brown hair and hazel eyes. Anyone who has seen or heard from him is asked to contact APD at 786-8900.
