Crews work to clear Susitna River ice overflow, blocking train services

TALKEETNA, Alaska (KTUU) - A disruption in Alaska Railroad services continue on Tuesday, due to flooding on the Susitna River.

Ice jams from flooding and ice overflow caused the shutdown of the Alaska Railroad services north of Talkeetna near Curry, according to the Alaska Railroad.

Timothy Sullivan, director of external affairs with Alaska Railroad, says crews are working to clear the ice overflow.

Sullivan says the railroad is excepted to reopen Tuesday night.
