Semi-truck Driver cited for speed in crash leading to overturned fuel tanker

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) A semi carrying thousands of gallons of diesel fuel overturned near mile 171 of the Richardson Highway Friday.

The semi was pulling double fuel tankers, which were both loaded at the time of the crash, according to troopers.

"When the rear tank trailer containing 4,000 gallons of diesel fuel slipped off the roadway and overturned," the dispatch log states.

AST said no diesel fuel leaked out of the tank.

According to the Alaska State Troopers dispatch log, the truck belongs to Big State Logistics.

In a settlement with the Environmental Protection Agency, Big State Logistics, Inc. agreed to pay $43,000 for spills in 2016.

Troopers issued a citation to the semi-truck driver for speed too fast for conditions.
