TOGIAK, Alaska (KTUU) - In the early morning hours of July 5th, a 17-year-old was found reportedly "unconscious/unresponsive" near a residence in the village of Togiak.
According to Alaska State Troopers, they receieved notification that the teen was receiving CPR just before 4.a.m on Wednesday.
Village Health Aides responded to the scene initially, troopers said, and continued the life saving measures on the male, however he was eventually pronounced dead by remote Kanakanak Hospital ER staff. It is unclear exactly how long he had been dead before the call was made.
The identity of the deceased teenager is not being released at this time, owing to his status as a minor. His family has been notified of the death, and troopers said "next of kin were present on scene."
The remains of the teen have been transported for an autopsy to the Anchorage State Medical Examiner's Office.
Troopers say the investigation into what caused the victim's death is still continuing at this time, however they also noted that they do not currently suspect any foul play involved in his death.
