ANCHORAGE (KTUU) - The University of Alaska Anchorage women's hoops squad, fresh off its third straight Great Northwest Athletic Conference title, will host the NCAA Div. II West Regional beginning Friday, March 10, at the Alaska Airlines Center.
For the second time in just three years, UAA will play a key role as a piece of the puzzle on the road to the finals, the NCAA Div. II Championships, to be held in early April.
The NCAA unveiled the national field, made up of 64 teams, as well as regional host sites on Saturday.
The No. 1-seeded Seawolves, ranked second in the nation, enter the tournament with a program-record 25-game win streak. Two in-conference foes, Simon Fraser and Western Washington, also made the regionals cut, making for the most GNAC teams in a regional since 2014.
This will be the fourth consecutive NCAA appearance for the Seawolves. To catch them in action, you can purchase full-tourney passes for $30 for adults and $18 for students, youth and seniors, who can also purchase single passes for $7. Single day passes for adults are $12.
Tickets go on sale Monday, March 6 at 10 a.m. AST. If you can't make the games, you can live stream any of them here. You can also check out the official online NCAA Div. II Women's Basketball Championship bracket here.
