U.S. Navy troops in Ukraine are among thousand of service members taking part in NATO exercises

ODESSA, Ukraine (KTUU) United States Navy Troops are taking part in joint NATO-Ukraine Naval Exercises on the Black Sea.

Around 30 Vessels, including a U.S. guided missile Cruiser, a Destroyer,25 aircraft and more than 3,000 service members from 17 countries are taking part in the drills.

The U.S. Navy says the practice scenarios cover maritime interdiction operations, air defense, anti-submarine warfare, damage control tactics, search and rescue, and amphibious warfare.

The Navy also says the exercise is designed to strengthen combined response capabilities and ensure the stability of the Black Sea region.

The Drills have been held annually since 1997 and will continue until July 22nd.
