ANCHORAGE (KTUU) Dozens of Mushers Wednesday lined up in South Anchorage to drop off thousands of pounds of dog food and equipment that will be shipped out for the Iditarod.

On day one of the food drop an estimated 70 volunteers crammed a warehouse to coordinate the event.

The meals include protein meats, kibble, and will be frozen inside drop bags which will be flown to checkpoints and villages along the race's route.
